Research Synopsis:
Relative strengths of the cortico-thalamo-cortical vs. direct cortico-cortical routes of information transfer. More specifically: does cortical information traveling through the thalamus have a large net effect on the area it is traveling to? How does the elicited effect in the target area of cortex compare with that elicited by direct cortico-cortical projections?
